Maxim Mitrofanov: “There are no surprises”

Zenit`s general director commented on the results of the draw for the 2011/2012 Russian Premier League season.

– The draw was held for the first time in the new format, – said Maxim Mitrofanov. – The procedure itself went smoothly, without any surprises. The teams were divided by climactic zones for the first time, and thus Zenit will start playing home games at Petrovsky Stadium starting only in April.

– Do you like the calendar?
– I wouldn`t say whether I like it or not. Zenit and CSKA will play in the Europa League, the Russian Cup, and the Russian Premier League. Furthermore, we`re playing CSKA to open the season for the Russian Super Cup. Players from our two teams make up the Russian national team, so of course there are certain difficulties. Now we`re going to distribute matches by calendar days, and maybe some small changes will be made.
