Russia move on to the quarterfinals of the Granatkin Memorial Tournament

On 10 January in St. Petersburg on day three of the tournament in memory of the first Russian FIFA vice-president Valentin Granatkin Russia progressed to the next stage.
In the second match of the group stage Russia beat Latvia 1-0 with Zenit's Nikita Kakkoev playing the full 90 minuets and winning the man of the match award. 

Russia have scored six points from their opening two games and have guaranteed themselves first place in the group and a place in the next round. The final group match for Mikhail Galaktionov's team will be on 12 January against Belarus.
