Davai Davai!: Nicolas Lombaerts appears on Palace Square as Peter the Great to help Maxim Kutin

The Belgian defender and Zenit legend is the latest hero of the Davai Davai charitable project from Zenit and Rusfond. Our supporters have raised 939,411 rubles ($16,475) for five-year-old Maksim Kutin's medical treatment.
On 19 May after the morning's training session, Nicolas Lombaerts arrived in Palace Square, outside the Hermitage museum, dressed as the founder of St. Petersburg, Peter the Great. He was accompanied by Catherine the Great also! Surrounded by hundreds of Zenit fans, Nico spent an hour walking around the square, signing autographs and posing for pictures.

"I really enjoyed it and now I've become a real emperor!" Lombaerts said. "I am glad that we raised the money. I have met Maxim, he's a very nice boy, we talked and played football. I hope that all goes well. I want to say thanks to everyone and remind them that it's really important that we help those in need."

Nicolas Lombaerts is the ninth Zenit player to get involved in the project. Previously Hulk sang and danced on Nevsky Prospekt, Danny worked as a barber Lodygin was a tour guide at the Hermitage, Dzyuba had a go at being a tram conductor, Criscito was a natural circus artist, Mauricio worked as a taxi driver, Kokorin sold donuts and Vladislav Radimov spent the day with the emergency services!

The total amount of funds raised has reached 20 million rubles ($350,753).
