A special film about a football match played on the Arctic platform with Zenit to be shown on NTV

On 16 June at 11.30pm, on the eve of the opening of the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia, NTV channel will show a documentary film Zenit - Prirazlomnaya, a first in the Arctic. This is the story of a unique football match that took place in the Arctic Ocean with the help of the stars of the Russian Football Premier League.

The idea of the film is inspired by a landmark historic event: On 17 September 1962, when the first Soviet nuclear submarine, K-3 reached the North Pole! A historic first, and almost immediately on reaching the ice - the submariners played football.
The football field for the modern competition was created on one of the world's most northerly fixed oil production platforms - Prirazlomnaya, the first and only project in the Russian Arctic shelf, where oil production is taking place.
The film was shot in a documentary style and the main theme is the preparation for the game, it also includes unique footage from the family video archives of some of the Zenit players and also has stories about life on Prirazlomnaya. The viewer will have the opportunity to see the stars of Russian football in an informal atmosphere.

The producers of the film tried to reveal the secrets of the unseen part of the football world: from preparing the stadium to getting ready for huge sports events. The film's audience will also learn how oil is produced in the Arctic and get acquainted with the way of life of the oil workers and see how they live on the Prirazlomnaya platform, a place often compared to a space station for its technological qualities.

The main characters of the documentary picture are, of course, the Zenit players (team of 2016): Alexander Kokorin, Yuri Lodygin, Artem Dzyuba, Yuri Zhirkov and Nicholas Lombaerts, as well as former player and coach Sergei Semak. The football match was played in two halves of 15 minutes. Each team consisted of five people, with a mix of Zenit players and platform workers on each side.

The documentary was produced by Kyrill and Victor Nabutov, Kirill talks highly of Zenit's participation in the social and charitable life of the country.  Victor also tells us all about the secrets of Prirazlomnoye, the flagship project of Gazprom Neft on the Russian Arctic shelf.
