Roberto Mancini: "We must develop a winner's mentality"

The Zenit boss spoke about his first home match and how events unfolded on Krestovsky Ostrov.
What did you say to the team at half-time?

In the first-half our movement was very slow. All I said to the guys during the break is to speed up, because when playing against a team with such a compact defense, you need to play quickly and with pace as often as possible. This is exactly what I told the team during the break.

In Khabarovsk, you said that you knew Kuzyaev would score. Did you think Driussi would do the same?

Yes, today I also knew that he would score.

How do you like the stadium?

The stadium is excellent. I have no complaints at all. It only needs to be totally full with fans. Today, if I'm not mistaken, there were about 40,000. We need to have a full house and then we will win.

Today Zenit seemed to be lucky, Last season it was Spartak Moscow who won a lot of matches in the last minute. Is fortune an Italian goddess?

"As Napoleon said, everyone needs luck." But it's not just about that. We played well, we deserved the victory and the result was fair.

Next week, Zenit are going to Israel. Are you ready for this?

We must develop a winner's mentality, this doesn't depend on external factors. We are ready to go to Israel and win.

Today, Neto made two mistakes. Are you satisfied with the pairing of Ivanovic and Neto? Is the club looking for a new central defender?

The transfer market is still open. We are looking for reinforcements in this position. Neto and Ivanovic play the way they play but we are always looking to strengthen.

After the game in Khabarovsk it became obvious that Dzyuba does not fit into the new Zenit system. Do you plan to use him as much as the previous coach did?

Dzyuba, like all other players, has not yet fully found his rhythm. Players always need to improve their game. This applies not only to Dzyuba, but to everyone.
