Roberto Mancini: "We had to score as many as possible"

The Zenit boss's thoughts on the 4-0 win over Akhmat Grozny.
Signor Mancini, congratulations on the win, what can you tell us about today's result?

I can say that as we had a one player advantage, we had to score as many as possible and keep playing with the same passion we had been showing when we were 2-0 and 3-0 up.

Why did the team appear nervous at the beginning? There were some lost passes and fouls given away. It also appeared you had some problems down the left.

How can I not be happy? I am pleased with the games of both Shatov and Criscito, their interaction was good. I wanted Shatov to go into the fight more and try more one on ones, as I would like to see him do this more often. Akhmat are a strong and organised team, to play against them is not easy.

Can Kokorin score 35 goals alone?

I hope so.

This is the second match in a row that two St.Petersburg youngsters started the game. Can Terentyev retain a place in the side and how closely do you follow Zenit-2 and the youth teams?

Yes, Terentyev played well and is from our academy. I would not like to single out anyone, for us everyone is important, Smolnikov, Anyukov, and Terentyev. I watch the matches of Zenit -2 and the youth team, I don't have much time for this, but in the future I would like to pay even more attention to our young players.

You again have dealt with the limit on foreign players, all your predecessors complained about this restriction. What do you think about this rule?

I have no problems with the limit. This is a rule that we must abide by, and, as you can see, we are successfully observing. For me, all players are equal regardless of their nationality.

These last seven days you have played three matches and in each of them had almost the same lineup except for Smolnikov. How do you keep the same team fresh?

There must be unity in the team, there must be a spine. At the moment we are transforming the team Many players, such as Giuliano have left the club and we don't yet have a stable first-team.
