A multi-lingual traveler and fan of Roger Federer, all the facts about Miha Mevlja

Let's get to know Zenit's new centre-back Miha Mevlja.
1. Zenit's new signing Miha Mevlja was born in Ljubljana but began his football career at Gorica Football Club in Nova Gorica, located near the Italian-Slovenian border. 

2. As a younger player Miha played as a midfielder, but his coach noticed his ability to read the game and move him to the back four. 

3. Miha spent four years at Gorica and the club finished from 3rd to 5th in the Slovenian Championship during those years. In 2013 he made the move to Switzerland. 

4. He then began a life on the road, changing teams every season. He has played for Swiss side Lausanne, Israel's Bnei Sahin, Romainia's Dynamo Bucharest and Russia's Rostov. Despite this, Miha was the captain at Dynamo. 

5. After leaving Lausanne, Miha had a long dry spell of not scoring any goals at club level, however, he ended that run in February this year in the UEFA Europa League match with Sparta Prague. 

6. Just like his transfer to Zenit, Miha joined Rostov on the final day of the transfer window. The Dynamo fans did not want to part with the team captain so they organised a protest outside the club's office. 

7. As well as speaking Slovenian and English, Miha also speaks Italian and understands Spanish and Russian. 

8. Miha has won five caps for his national team and scored his only goal for his country against Poland. 

9. Miha is one of the few players who wears glasses, but plays and trains in contact lenses. 

10. Miha is very fond of tennis, he closely follows the major tournaments and has followed the career of Roger Federer for more than 10 years.
