Artem Dzyuba: "Tomorrow we need to win to get that long-awaited first place"

The blue-white-sky blue striker on tomorrow's UEFA Europa League match with Vardar.
We're happy to see you, but this season you haven't been communicating with journalists, why is that?

I decided that I would not and I made that decision for myself. I have not spoken with the press because I am a little disappointed with some of your colleagues. So I am quiet.

How do you feel about the result against Tosno and scoring?

It's unpleasant not to score for two months, but the most important thing was to win. It was really important that we won three points as our competitors won, so we knew we had to win. The fact that we scored a lot of goals is good and that it was different players scoring too. For me, this was an important goal, both psychologically and morally. It was important for the team to win and with a 5-0 score too. Everyone knows that our next game will be even more difficult and we need to be ready for that.

How do you make yourself focus on Vardar and not Spartak?

The problem of getting out of the group is sorted, but now we have the job of taking first place in the group. Tomorrow we need to win to get that long-awaited first place. We want to win every single match. We've had some bad matches, where no one scored and we conceded. But all our thoughts are now on Vardar. We need to think about our next opponent first and foremost. Tomorrow will be Vardar, then Spartak Moscow.

This season you've scored against Vardar, then scored against Rosenborg, although the goal was then disallowed. Do you feel more confident in European matches?

There is a combination of circumstances. I think that in the group stage of the Europa League the other teams are not much stronger than the teams of the Russian championship, but the Europa League is not the Champions League.

Did you thank Kuzyaev for the pass?

I was pleased and I said thanks to him. Then I told him: "If you did not give me the ball, I would have hit you right there." Daler gave me a very good pass and had a very strong match. As soon as he gave me the ball, I immediately thanked him. I expected the ball from him. This goal is 90% his.
