Maxim Karpov was born on 17 March and started his football life in St. Petersburg. From age12 to 14 he was with the Zenit Academy, followed by a stint in Moscow, beforing returning to Zenit at 17. 

Maxim made his debut in November of last year, coming on as a substitute in the UEFA Europa League match against Vardar.
