    Khodjaniyazov helps Russia beat England
    Russia`s junior national team for players born in 1996, which features Zenit youth team defender Jamaldin Khodjaniyazov, beat their peers from England in the second match of the of the European Championship qualifying round.

    The match, which was held in England, was won by Russia 2:1. Having given up aт own goal in the 6th minute, Russia then tied the score in the first half, and went on to win in the second half thanks to a goal from “Zenit” Olympic Reserve School player Ramil Sheidayev.

    The important win for Russia was made possible thanks to the fine play of Zenit youth team fullback Jamaldin Khodjaniyazov, who played the whole match for Russia.

    The victory over England was Russia`s second in the qualifying round. Russia also beat Slovenia in the first match in the group by the same score of 2:1. Russia`s final match will come against Portugal, and will take place on March 28. A tie is sufficient for Russia to reach the European Championship, which will be held from May 5 to May 17 in Slovakia.
