Biography

Fausto Salsano was born in Cava de' Tirreni, Italy, on 19 December 1962. 

He spent his playing career at Sampdoria, where he played more than 250 games and Roma as a midfielder. He won the Coppa Italia on five occasions and the UEFA Cup once in 1989/90 with Sampdoria. 

He began his coaching career at Imperia in 2000 and went on to be assistant manager at Catania and Fiorentina before joining up with Roberto Mancini in 2004 at Inter Milan. Together they went on to Manchester City,  Galatasaray and back to Inter. 

Fausto joined Zenit with Roberto Manchini in the summer of 2017.
