On the way to the final, Maxim Kovalenko and Yevgeny Tarasov's team scored five wins in five games, scoring 45 goals and conceding only 1. In the final decisive match defeated a CSKA team from Volgograd 8-0. 

A number of Zenit players also received individual awards, including Nikita Firsov was the best goalkeeper of the tournament, Artem Samoilenko best defender, Maxim Seryogin best midfielder, Vitaliy Nem best striker, Alexander Fedorov was the top scorer, and the overall player of the tournament went to Stepan Shevchenko.
