Dmitry Davydov played for Zenit from 1993 to 2002 and represented the club a total of 185 times. In 1999 he won the Russian Cup with the club. He also played for Lipetsk Metallurg, Luch-Energia Vladivostok and Dynamo St Petersburg. 

In 2011, he began work at the Gazprom Academy and in June 2015 entered the coaching staff of the Zenit youth set-up.
