Branislav Ivanovic was born on 22 February 1984 in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia. He began his career at local side Srem, before moving on to OFC Belgrade. In 2006 Ivanovic joined the Lokomotiv Moscow where after two seasons he caught the eye of Chelsea. In 2008, he moved to the English Premier League, where he became a two-time Premier League Champion, three-time FA Cup winner, winner of the Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. 

Ivanovic has twice won the Serbian player of the year award and is captain of his national team, whom he has represented 100 times.
