Leandro Paredes: "We have a great future"

The Argentinian midfielder spoke to the Zenit supporters at the club's Fan's Forum.
We have a very young and promising team and we have a great future ahead of us. Not all of us speak Russian, but we have a close-knit team and a strong team spirit. I believe that we will be able to get some big wins in the future. I want to thank you for your great support in all our matches and not just at our home games. At all our away games we always see you and hear you. I'm sad that we did not go further in the Europa League, but your support is very important for us. Now we are not having the kind of season we would like, but together we must overcome it and move forward to new victories.

The last thing I want to add from myself and on behalf of my Argentine comrades: we will all give our best, try to play better and better and win with the team.

We can see that you have the great potential, but often you quiet on the pitch and do not show your leadership qualities. Why is this happening?

During the 90 minutes of the match a lot happens with many confrontations and incidents. Sometimes we manage to win and sometimes we don't, but all the players give 100% out on the pitch. As for me personally, I am now 23-years-old and I still have a lot to learn from my older and more experienced teammates, they will help me to play as best I can.

In the summer a young star came to us, but now we are talking about being inexperienced. What prevents you from feeling confident and comfortable in St. Petersburg?

I want to assure you that we have a good atmosphere in the team and we all have a great relationship with each other. My Argentine friends and I have no problems in St.Petersburg, this really is a beautiful city. As for drawbacks, perhaps the fact that moving here was a big change in environment for us all, but I am sure that with time, everything will just get better and better.
