Lionel Messi scored the 100th goal of the World Cup in St. Petersburg

The five time Ballon d'Or winner scored the opening goal in the 14th minute of the game against Nigeria.
Messi's goal was the 100th of the World Cup in Russia and the first for Lionel Messi in the tournament. He became the third Argentinian after Diego Maradona and Gabriel Batistuta to score in three World Cups. 

Argentina won the game 2-1 and will go on to face France in the last 16 in Kazan on 30 June.
