Sardar Azmoun signs for Zenit!

The Iranian forward joins us on a three-and-a-half year deal from Rubin Kazan.
Serdar Azmoun was born on 1 January 1995 in the Iranian city of Gonbad-e Kavus. He started his playing days at Isfahan Sepahan in Iran's top flight.

In December 2012 he made the move to Rubin Kazan and had a loan spell at Rostov, before making the move permanent. He was part of the Rostov team that finished as runners up in the Russian title race a couple of seasons ago. Last year Azmoun returned to Rubin to once again link up with Kurban Berdyev.

In his five-and-a-half seasons in Russia, he has played 154 matches and scored 42 goals.

Azmoun also has 46 caps for his country and has scored 28 international goals.

Welcome to St. Petersburg Serdar!
