After day one of the tournament the Zenith Academy and the Red Star Academy had six points each with Zenit winning the matches between the teams born in 2005 and 2004, and the Serbians winning the 2003 and 2002 matches. 

In the first match of the second day, Zenit U14s won again with the score 1: 0 - the only goal was scored by Nikita Lobov. 

Red Star won the remaining games taking the U15s match 3-1, the U16s match 4-1 and the U17 game 2-1.

Savely Nikiforov (2005), Kirill Stolbov (2004), Yaroslav Mikhailov (2003) and Arseny Zigangirov (2002) were all awarded the best player awards for their teams during the tournament.

The Friendship Cup was the first international tournament for the Gazprom Academy this year. On 9 and 10 March the Dmitry Besov Cup will be held at the Academy and on 22–25 August the Yuri Morozov memorial tournament will take place.
