Daler Kuzyaev: “I hope I will return to full training in two weeks”

The Zenit and Russia midfielder spoke to Match-TV.
On the first game with Fenerbahce :

Because of my injury, there was no point in flying with the team to Istanbul from Spain. So I watched the match at home on TV in St. Petersburg. I really wanted to be with the guys on the pitch.

We started with uncertainty. But then I remembered the match we had at the same time last year with Celtic in Glasgow. We lost there 1-0, although the Scots, like the Turks, almost created nothing. But then at home, we played much better!

On the second leg:

We will win in the return leg with the support of our fans and with our desire and dedication, I’m pretty sure that we’ll be able to play well against Fenerbahce. The main thing is not to concede, to attack calmly, to wait for our chances and everything will work out.

About his injury:

During a friendly game at the training camp I got a bad back injury. I hope that in two weeks I will be back in full training. I have already started on an individual programme. When you are away from the team, it's not very fun. Especially doing a completely different training scheme. You just have to get on with it. But injuries are also part of football.

On winning games:

When I meet our fans they always say "it would be great to finally bring the title back to St. Petersburg" and I completely agree with them. At The Gazprom Arena for every match, regardless of the opponent, so many people come! It gives us so much strength and positivity and the fans really do drive us forward during the game.
