Vyacheslav Malafeev was born on 4 March 1979 in Leningrad and was a one-club-man, spending 17 seasons at Zenit and playing 442 matches (including 164 clean sheets.) He also won 29 caps for Russia. 

Slava Malafeev has played more minutes for Zenit (39,167) than any other player and while at Zenit he won the Russian championship four times, the Russian Cup and Russian Super Cup twice, the Premier League Cup, the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
