Yaroslav Rakitsky: "We fought for the fans and for the city"
The Zenit defender reflects on the game against Spartak Moscow.
Were we better than Spartak? We had chances and Rigoni could have scored. The team that would have conceded the second goal, would have lost.
This is a derby, and we did not look at the table. We played purely for the win and believed right until the end that we would win. But 1-1 suits us.
I want to say a big thank you to our fans. Their support was crazy. We fought for them and for the city. Physically, I feel fine. These two days since the last match have flown by.
Is it comfortable to have a five-point gap? We will play every match to win. We need three points in each game.
