Vyacheslav Karavaev joins Zenit

The Russian U21 international joins Zenit on a 4-year-deal from Holland’s Vitesse Arnhem.

The full-back was born on 20 May 1995 in Moscow and began his pro career at CSKA Moscow, making his debut in the 2013/14 season. Loan moves to the Czech Republic to Dukla Prague and FC Jablonec soon followed, before a permanent move to Sparta Prague in 2016 allowed the right back to establish himself in the Czech side’s first team. There he played a total of 44 games, scored 4 goals and made 10 assists, before a transfer to the Eredivisie beckoned.

Karavaev has spent the last two seasons as a regular in the Vitesse first team and has played a total of 65 times there, scoring 2 goals and making 9 assists along the way.

Welcome to St. Petersburg Vyacheslav, we look forward to seeing you at the Gazprom Arena!
