The away team took the lead at the Smena Stadium in the 7th minute through Tamerlan Musaev and led at the break. However, Kirill Kosarev scored almost straight away at the resumption of the game, finishing a pass from Nikita Simdyankin to score his first goal for the club.

With 19 points, Zenit remain in first place in the standings.
