Douglas Santos is the Zenit mascot for charity

Our Brazilian full back went out on the streets of St. Petersburg after Zenit and Rusfond raised the necessary 1,133,000 rubles (16,000 euros) to pay for Lisa and Matvey Bagrovy operation.
Douglas Santos arrived at the club’s main store at 20 Nevsky Prospekt at around 3.00pm and was briefed by Stanislav Malyukov, the man who usually wears the mascot's costume on matchdays.

Our Brazilian full-back headed to Palace Square where the Hermitage is situated, to meet the fans and hand out leaflets all about our charity campaign. he also met a group of German tourists there and had a chat with them about his time at Hamburg.

“This was a first for me, I've never dressed as a mascot before and this was a good experience for me, but more importantly, it was an excellent reason to help someone and try and make their life a little better. It has motivated me to help people. If there is an opportunity to help someone, then you have to do it." Douglas Santos told us.

Davai Davai! Is a joint initiative of the blue-white-sky blues and Rusfund, one of Russia's largest charitable foundations. Rusfund raise money for the treatment of seriously ill children and we've worked together for a number of years helping ill children.
