Second half goals from Cervi on 47, Pizzi on 58 from the penalty spot, and an own goal from a corner on 79 saw Zenit end this season's Champions League campaign on a low.

In the other group game, Lyon came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home with RB Leipzig and secure the second playoff spot in Group G behind the German outfit. Benfica and Zenit both finished on 7 points, but the one-goal advantage across both games for the Portuguese team mean they qualify for the Europa League, and the blue-white-sky blues will play no further part in Europe this season.
