What are you looking to achieve at the first Gazprom Training Camp?
We will look at the results of the player’s medicals, we will do some more tests on the players and make sure they are in their best condition, this is the main job of our first training camp. We will give the players the opportunity to play and we want to have two friendly matches. We have already got an opponent for the 25th January and we are looking for a team to play on the 21st.
Matias Kranevitter isn’t here, what’s the situation with him?
He’s looking at what to do next and we'll see what happens. He is in touch with me and the club. If the opportunity of a transfer comes up then we will consider it. He may well join us, but now we are waiting for news from his agent and the options available.
What condition are Malcolm and Kokorin in?
Kokorin is training with the first team and Malcom is still not 100% and will only take part partially, but we still have time and will look to slowly bring him back to the first team, maybe by the end of the first training camp. Malcom will do some training with the first team and some individually. He has no major issues right now.
Are you considering how to use Malcom and Kokorin together on the pitch? Will you be trying any new formations at this training camp?
It’s too early to talk about this before the season resumes, so we’ll see. We have some ideas, but it’s too early to discuss formations. At the moment we have our players available and when we can fully rely on Malcom and Kokorin, then we will know what formations are open to us.
How is Emanuel Mammana condition?
He is undergoing treatment and will not be joining us yet, but will be at the next training camp. He needs a very long rehabilitation process and will train on an individual programme.
A number of young players have joined you at this training camp. Is this an opportunity for them to impress?
It all depends on them and the players we have available. Leon Musaev for example, he has a good chance to stay with the first team. Ilya Vorobiev, has trained with us and been in the match day squad, so is becoming part of the first team and is very promising. If we talk about Kaplenko, then he needs to play in some friendlies and train with is. Ivanovic has not joined up with us yet and Kaplenko has experience playing in central defence, we’ll look at him and in this position. Rudakov, has options to go to another club and play more, as we already have three goalkeepers. I know him as a player and want to take a close look at him and discuss his future.

Yes, he is not here due to a personal issue, but will be with us soon.
