Ilya Vorobyev: “For me, the most important thing is to be an effective player for my team”

A brief interview with the 20 year-old winger about life in quarantine, his Gazprom Training Camp experiences with the first team and his ambitions at the club.

How is life in quarantine? Are you exercising at home regularly?

Of course! It would be a lot better to have the possibility of training on a football pitch, but I do my best and working hard at home every day.

How are you spending your free time apart from training? Do you stay in contact with any of your teammates?

I'm spending my free time with my family, I also play PS4, watch a lot of films and stay in contact with my friends via video calls.

How was your experience at the Gazprom Training Camps with the Zenit first team? Who did you learn from the most during your time with the club's top players?

It was an amazing experience! Every member of the first team helped me a little bit!

You scored six goals and made three assists before the winter break, did you set any target of what you wanted to achieve as a player this season?

For me, the most important thing is to be an effective player for my team. Meaning no matter how many goals I score, the main thing is always the team get the win!

Do you have a message for the fans during these tough times?

Take care of your health! Be responsible for yourself, your family, and of course observe the safety precautions set.
