Sergei Semak agrees new contract to stay in St. Petersburg

The Zenit boss has signed a new two-year contract with the option of a further one-year extension.

Sergei Semak joined Zenit 10 years ago in August 2010 and for three seasons played for us here in St. Petersburg. While a blue-white-sky blue he won two league titles. After retiring from on the pitch action he became part of the Zenit coaching staff. 

In March 2014 he took caretaker charge of Zenit for two games, one of which saw a 2-1 away win over Borussia Dortmund.

In August 2014 he joined the national team set-up as well as worked as n assistant to Andre Villas-Boas here at Zenit, taking the team to the 2014/15 league championship

In December 2016 he was appointed as Ufa manager and took the team to their highest ever league finish of sixth and a place n the UEFA Europa League.

May 2018 saw Sergei Semak rejoin us at Zenit as manager and within a year he'd taken Zenit to the top of the league and the club's sixth league title.

We are delighted to confirm Sergei Semak will remain at Zenit and continue leading the club to further glories.
