The Zenit boss on the home win against Arsenal Tula.

Sergey Semak: "It was a tough, but deserved win"

We had a good first half performance, we played well and were steady in defence, and not bad in attack. The first half was good. Unfortunately we lost our intensity and movement in the second half and allowed them to seize the initiative. They had some good attacks and a few shots from outside the penalty area, one of which ended in a goal. After that, things got a bit nervous for us, but It’s nice that we were able to score that third goal and could finish the match quite calmly. It was a tough but deserved win.

Denis Terentyev played for the first time this season. What are his chances of him staying at Zenit after the end of the transfer window?

We'll see if he stays or not and we're talking with Denis. We’ll take into account his wishes and see how important it is for the club to keep him. He plays on the right side and can also play as a forward and this is his normal position.

Before the match, you were asked about Mostovoy and Barrios’ playing together, but for most of the first half Mostovoy played on the right and Malcom on the left. What was the idea and was it successful?

I think it was a success. The first goal came thanks to good play between Krugovoy and Malcolm and Mostovoy played very well on the right. Firstly, it made it difficult for the opposition and secondly, Malcom immediately got the defender on a yellow card. Depending on what we need we can play either player on the different flanks. Malcom had some great moments, especially in the first half and all that came from the right. It was a success and we looked pretty good down both flanks.

What is the situation with Leon Musaev? Today he was again not in the matchday squad.

He has been out for a while, but is now training on an individual programme and he will be ready for the next match and will be in the squad, as long as nothing unusual happens. He is training, but is not back to full fitness yet.
