Youngsters from the centre took a full tour of the stadium, including paying a visit to the team's dressing room, walking through the players' tunnel, checking out the view from a VIP box and even taking a seat in the dugout.

“We observed all social distancing measures and all wore masks and gloves the entire time” said Larisa Ivanovna, one of the mums accompanying the trip. "This was the first time our centre has been on an outing since the lifting of quarantine and it's been a breath of fresh air for us. The boys and girls really enjoyed it!"

St. Petersburg's Down Syndrome Centre is a publicly-run organisation bringing together more than 260 families of with children and adults with Down Syndrome and offering them support and activities including physical education, sports, creative events and leisure time.
