Zenit 2 dismantle Zenit Irkutsk at home.

The blue-white-sky-blues' second team registered their third win of the season in a comfortable 4-0 victory against PFL Group 2 side Zenit Irkutsk.

The blue-white-sky-blues started the game with a real dominant approach about themselves – setting their defensive line high and pinning the opposition into their own half with great success.

Mikhail Pogorelov had the first clear cut chance of the game as the ball landed to him inside the box from a deep cross from skipper Nikolay Tarasov - but the winger couldn’t control his volley and struck it wide of the mark.

Zenit 2 eventually made their dominance count and took the lead in the 37th minute thanks to a guided header by midfielder Kirill Kravtsov. The 18-year-old was picked out by winger Mikhail Pogorelov from the corner and Zenit 2 had their deserved lead after some impressive play.

Radimov’s side were dominant out the blocks again after half time, continuing to dictate and control the flow of the game. This was again rewarded when Nikita Simdyankin was quick to get his name on the scoresheet in the 51st minute after a ball from the left by Leon Musaev found the attacker inside the area who took his chance with ease.

Things went from bad to worse for Zenit Irkutsk who couldn’t contain wave after wave of attacks from the blue-white-sky-blues. Stanislav Krapukhin bagged the third goal of the match (and his eighth of the season) in the 61st minute after Dmirtry Sergeev crossed in an inviting ball from the right hand side which Krapukhin took full advantage of.

The fourth and final goal came in the 69th minute when Nikita Simdyankin was gifted a tap in at the back post thanks to some brilliant counter attacking play down the left by Mikahil Pogorelov. Krapukhin picked up the ball in the center and slid through the 21-year-old winger who had plenty of grass to run into before dispatching a perfect ball for Simdyankin across the box who couldn’t miss.

Vladislav Radimov’s men now move up to 10th in the PFL Group 2 standings with 11 points on the board after 9 matches. To keep up-to-date with Zenit 2, follow the club’s official English language Twitter account here
