Krapukhin scores twice as Zenit 2 brush aside Chita

Vladislav Radimov’s side played their second game in four days against bottom of the league FC Chita on Friday.

Stanislav Krapukhin continued his impressive goal scoring form on Friday, netting twice as Zenit 2 recorded back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Vladislav Radimov made seven changes to the side which beat Zenit Irkutsk midweek, with midfielder Leon Musaev captaining the side for the first time this season.

In the 18th minute, Vasily Zapryagaev struck a low cross into the box from the left which Krapukhin was first to react to at the front post. The striker met the ball with some pace and guided it expertly past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net which gave Zenit 2 the lead.

Stanislav Krapukhin then doubled the blue-white-sky-blues’ lead in the 30th minute as Danila Prokhin’s header landed at the feet of the striker, after a defensive deflection, who couldn’t miss from a few yards out.

Max Levin scored Zenit’s third just after the 60th minute mark. Zapryagaev’s tame effort on the volley was met in the box by Levin, whose first attempt was blocked by the Chita defence, but the midfielder made his second effort count from close range.

Vladislav Radimov’s men will now prepare to travel away to FC Kolmna on the 14th October in search of a third win on the bounce this season. You can keep up-to-date with the blue-white-sky-blues second team on the official English language Twitter account here.
