Wendel Valle da Silva was born on 28 August 1997 in Duque de Caxias, Brazil. He started his playing career at Tigres do Brasil before joining Fluminense’s Academy in 2015.

Wendel made his debut for Fluminense in April 2017 and played 41 matches for the Brazilian club, scoring six goals and creating two assists.

Wendel made the move to Sporting Lisbon in January 2018 and played 79 matches for the Portuguese giants, scoring six goals and gaining eight assists.

In 2019, he made his debut for Brazilia’s U23 team. He joined us at Zenit this October and selected to wear the number 20. 

He joined the action in the 66th minute against Sochi, replacing goalscorer Alexander Erokhin and slotting into central midfield. 

Zenit went on to win the game 3-1 thanks to goals from Karavaev, Erokhin and Santos and remain top of the Russian Premier Liga on 24 points after 11 played.
