Andrey Arshavin: "We will continue to follow Ilya Vorobyev"

The Director of Youth Football spoke about the transfer of Ilya Vorobyev to Orenburg.
"I am glad we were able to sell the player and not loan him. I think in this case it was good for all involved. It's good for Zenit because we have some money. For Ilya, he'll play at the FNL leaders which will give him the opportunity to get promoted to the Russian Premier Liga with Orenburg. In our opinion, Orenburg have received a talented footballer with potential.

Why did we sell with a buy-back option? Because we understand that he has out grown Zenit 2 and in the next 2 years he is unlikely to play for Zenit. We will continue to follow Ilya and hope that in the next few years we will buy him back if he can reach his potential.

Ilya had a desire to go and play in the Russian Premier Liga, and he had many offers from FNL sides. At first, I didn't let him go and thought that it was better for him to stay at Zenit 2, now I think that this was wrong. As for Khimki, Alexander Mendevev solved the situation as there was a change in leadership there."
