Tuesday’s Champions League defeat was tough to take. How’s morale in the team at the moment? How will you get the positivity back in the team?
The most important thing is to play the next game as soon as possible. Our job is to recover and prepare for the next match, even though we had a bad result in our first Champions League game.
What dangers do Kazan present for you?
They are a fairly young team, very balanced and are playing well. That team is at the top of their game and looking at their qualities we are in for a very difficult match.
You know Leonid Slutsky very well. Does this help in preparing for the match and have Rubin changed under him?
Rubin have improved, the way they play, their tactics, their formation, every way Rubin are playing. Slutsky has brought in his ideas and is using the best qualities of his players. I know him very well, but I don’t think this really helps in our preparation.
You face Borussia a few days after Saturday's game, will this affect how you play on Saturday?
It’s more like the match against Club Brugge will influence us. It is always easier to recover and prepare for a game when you are in a positive mood. Either way, we must do our job and prepare for the next match.
Were you surprised that Dortmund lost to Lazio?
Yes, although I cannot say that this was something unusual or a shock, but, yes the result was quite unexpected. Dortmund are a very good team.
Has Lazio's win drastically changed the situation in the group?
We will see. Borussia were the obvious favorite on paper at the start, but this is football and anything is possible. This is just the beginning of a tough, yet interesting journey. So let's see what happens at the end of the group stage.
Can you update us on Malcom’s injury status?
We have no new information as yet. We are waiting for another medical for Malcom. Until he’s back in full training, he won’t be back playing.
Will Yuri Zhirkov be available for the game against Rubin?
Yuri is training on an individual programme and we are looking at his condition. It is a possibility and we’ll know more after today's training session.
