Thomas Delaney: " I'm not worried that we won't qualify"

The Danish midfielder spoke to the media ahead of Borussia Dortmund v Zenit.
Thomas Delaney: " I'm not worried that we won't qualify"

Thomas, you lost against Lazio, what are you expecting tomorrow?

It wasn't a good enough performance from us. Fortunately, there are still plenty of more chances for points. I'm not worried that we won't qualify."

We were a little surprised that you played as a central defender. What position do you prefer?

In Bremen, I played in central defence a few times. It took me a little to settle in, but I feel comfortable there. But, I'm still a midfielder!

Now in the midfield there are two pairs to choose from Witsel and Bellingham or Mahmoud Dahoud and Delaney. How do you and Dahoud get on?

Good, we’ve been playing together for a long time and I think we have good chemistry, which has got better after the coronavirus break. I want to take part in every match, but now the situation is tough and it’s up to the manager to decide who plays in midfield and how he rotates the squad.

What does the team need to do to get a positive result?

We need to understand that the UEFA Champions League is a different tournament. I'll be honest, I don't know much about Zenit. We’ve had a well-deserved break and later today we’ll have a tactical session. After that, we’ll know more about them.
