Today, unlike the first match with Riga, you played the full match and not just a half, was it harder?
It was tough in the heat and with the hot sun. We started well and put on the pressure in the first 20 minutes. But then our legs got a bit heavy and we stepped back a bit. We weren’t very fresh so couldn’t press as much as we’d have liked. There were a number of mistakes and we spent a lot of the second half in our own half.
After your first Zenit goal against Riga, you were given the celebratory tunnel who kicked you the most?
Yes, it was not very nice! (laughs). Probably it was Azmoun who was waiting for me at the end of the tunnel and gave me a big congratulations! His footprint might still be on my back! (smiles).
Today you scored again, can you describe the goal?
At first there was a good pass from Prokhin, from which I didn't manage to score, but then Magomed Ozdoev found me when I broke the offside trap and all I had to do was put the ball over the ‘keeper.
What were the manager’s instructions today?
He said to play on the defender's shoulder and always be ready for an unexpected pass, to get behind them and score.
What are your aims for 2021?
Now the most important thing is to get into good shape and show what I can do for the first team.
What do you do to relax here at the training camp?
A lot of things, I read, relax, I play with my Rubik's cube and just recover from training.
What are you reading?
Now I’m reading a detective story by Jean-Christophe Grangé and I’ve also brough Remarque with me.
