On the 77th anniversary of the liberation of the city, Zenit fans, club officials and former players took part in a city-wide commemoration of the lifting of the Leningrad blockade. Representatives of Zenit laid flowers at the memorial located near the Petrovsky Stadium.

A blank shell from an anti-aircraft gun was fired from the Petrovsky Stadium island, where during the war a unit of anti-aircraft servicemen were stationed to defend the besieged city. Flares and fireworks were also lit over the Neva river to mark the event.

Zenit Football Club thanks all those whose heroism allows us to live in freedom in the best city in the world.
