How are the players who missed out on the match with Chelsea?
Players who don't get much playing time can be a problem, but not within our team. It is very important to train well and when the chance to play comes to take that opportunity and play well. Players must always be ready to play.
Any injury updates?
The information has not changed, Ozdoev, Karavaev and Lovren are not in full training but we’re keeping an eye on them and we’re hoping for an early recovery of the players we really need.
The game in London must have taken a lot out of you, is there a risk that the players will be drained for the match with Rubin?
It’s always like this after big games, the players spent a lot of energy, both physically and mentally against Chelsea. We need to be alert and get ready for the match against Rubin.
Last season Rubin were the only team to beat Zenit twice. Does that make Monday's match more important for you?
No, we just want to win every match. We played well against Rubin last season, but got a bad result. That happens and the league season is long with 30 games and there’s always going to be some failings. Sometimes you play as if you should win, but you don’t, and it feels unfair and not a reflection of the match, so we just need to get ready and give all our best in every match.
Are you worried about the state of the pitch in Kazan?
I’ve read what Slutsky has said about the pitches at the Central Stadium and at the new arena both not being ideal and that the best pitch in Kazan right now is at the Rubin training base, but what can we do? The pitch will be the same for both teams, we might make some changes due to it, let's see what condition it’s in.
