Dejan Lovren: "I believe in our team"

The Zenit captain spoke to us after the 2-1 loss to Arsenal.
Dejan Lovren: "I believe in our team"

The pitch looked quite dry today. Did it affect the match?

I think it would be silly to say that something was wrong with the pitch. Sometimes it does matter, but today it was windy and although the pitch was dry, we’ve no excuses for the game.

Zenit had good chances in the first half, but didn’t score. Why was that?

I think it's time for us to wake up and start thinking about our upcoming games. We have three very important matches ahead of us and everything is possible for us. I believe in our team, but we need to wake up as soon as possible.

Today was your first match after injury. How are you feeling?

This is the only positive moment for today - that I came back and feel good. Of course, I missed our team's matches. But now, as I said, we need to concentrate and show ourselves better in the coming fights.

On Wednesday you have an important match against Juventus. Will today's defeat affect the team?

Today is a difficult day for all of us, but tomorrow is a new day and we have to think differently and forget about what happened. We need to focus on what is ahead of us and I believe in this team. If we work together, we have every chance of success.
