Daler, how was your holiday?
It was wonderful! I went to Mexico for two weeks and really liked it. It was my first time there and it’s a very interesting place to visit. I went to the Mayan pyramids at Chichen Itza and really enjoyed seeing that. On my holiday I liked lying on the beach, sunbathing and swimming in the sea, I did a lot of that.
Did you try any of the local food?
Yes, I tried tacos for the first time, I liked them although they were a bit spicy.
Did you keep fit on holiday or just relax?
I did keep fit of course! I know I have to keep on top of it and not eat too much. I did some jogging and training in the gym, just like usual. So I feel I am in good shape before the training camp.
What was your best New Year's gift?
There were a lot of presents and all of them were cool, but one of the three pairs of plain black socks were the best.
Do you have a favorite and least favorite part of the medical process?
I don’t like it, you have to run on the treadmill to reach a certain pulse rate and no one likes that. My favourite part is when it’s finished.
What are your expectations for the first Gazprom Training Camp?
We are used to it now, we will all train hard and get fit so we are ready for the matches against Betis.
