Zenit’s Colombian midfielder shared his thoughts on the match against Dynamo.
“I’m very happy that we won and could make our lead even stronger. Today we showed good teamwork, both in defence and attack. I think Zenit have started looking better from match to match, and that’s great. What’s most important is that it doesn’t matter if we are playing at home or away, we always want to win.”
The match wasn’t easy, what was the key factor of the success?
“That we were able to keep our intensity and concentration for the whole 90 minutes. It was important to keep in mind that we were playing against a tough opponent who is especially dangerous on their home ground. I’m very happy with this win, it was needed today. Now all my thoughts are about the international break.”
There’s a small break ahead, so some players will be able to rest and recharge, but not you, as the trip to the USA with the Colombian national team awaits you. Are you ready for long flights, have you missed them?
“I’m always happy to be in the national team, to feel that I’m a part of it. I’m barely even thinking about the long distance traveling, because my motivation to put the Colombian shirt on is huge. Now I have to get ready and improve my fitness level so I can be at my best when I meet my teammates.”
