Pavel Sadyrin played for Zenit from 1965 to 1975 and captained the team for six seasons notching up 360 appearances. He was Zenit head coach from 1983 to 1987 and from 1995 to 1996. In 1984 he led the club to their first time ever league title.

As part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the birth of Pavel Sadyrin, Zenit invites all fans to a special celebratory Legends of Leningrad even before tour Russian Premier Liga game on 2 October against Rostov.
