The biggest ice skating rink in St. Petersburg is now open near the Gazprom Arena

A new ice skating rink opened near to the Gazporm Arena, right next to the highest flagpole in Europe on 24 November.

Olympic champion figure skater Aleksey Yagudin took part in the opening ceremony and after his performance the famous figure skater held a master class for guests and taught some of his main moves on the ice skating rink.

The new ice skating rink is 2900 square meters and is located right next to the Gulf of Finland, near the Zenit metro station. It’s the biggest ice rink in the city with views out to sea, the Lakhta Centre and the Gazprom Arena. The rink has quite an interesting shape with two big areas connected by ice paths which makes it even more fun to skate. In the public space near the flagpole there is a café with special flooring that you can access right from the rink without taking your skates off, and soon, warm café-pavilions will be open where you’ll be able to rest after skating.

During weekdays one-hour sessions are free until 4pm. Tickets are available at https://flagshtock.ru/ or in the ticket box of the ice rink on the day of skating. After 4pm and on weekends the ticket price varies from 300 to 450 rubles. There is free WiFi you can use as well as lockers to keep your belongings safe while you’re skating.
