The season so far in stats: Part one

We've rounded up some of the most important attacking statistics for Sergei Semak's men from the first part of this RPL season.

1. Zenit are the only team in the league not to have lost an away match. Rostov have once and Spartak twice. 

2. We are the league’s top scorers with 47 goals. Second are Spartak on 40, followed by Dynamo Moscow and Orenburg on 33 each.

3. The league leaders have scored the most goals from open play with 40 goals. Next are Spartak on 29, then Dynamo and Sochi on 21 each. 

4. Sergei Semak's side have the best goal difference in the league with +40. Spartak are second on +22, followed by Dynamo and CSKA in third place with +12 each.

5. Zenit have scored 6 goals from outside the box, level with in first place with Dynamo and Krasnodar. 

6. We are leading in average shots per game with 19.4, ahead of Orenburg in second with 17.6 and Spartak with 16.9.

7. The blue-white-sky blues have also had the most shots in the box with 13.1 shots per game. In second place are Spartak on 11.2 and third place goes to Orenburg on 10.9.

8. Zenit have the most ball possession in the league with an average of 63.3% per game. Krasnodar are second with 55.9% and Spartak third on 55.4%.

9. The current RPL champions are more accurate than anyone else in the RPL with 85.4% passing accuracy. Krasnodar are next on 82.6% and Spartak third on 81.2%.

10. Zenit are also top for accurate passes in the penalty area with 7.5 per match. Spartak are second on 5.8 and CSKA are third on 4.5. 

11. The side from St. Petersburg have made an average of 19 crosses per match, placing us third on the list alongside Rostov and Fakel. Orenburg are top on 21 and Ural are second with 20 crosses.

12. We touched the ball 487 times in the oppositions’ penalty area. This is the highest number in the RPL, followed by Spartak with 438 and CSKA on 388.
