Ilya Skrobotov was born on 6 July 2000 and joined Zenit at the start of the 2017/18 season. 

Skrobotov was soon called up to Sergei Semak's Gazprom Training Camp in the winter of 2018 and made his first team team debut in the Spring of 2018. He then scored his first goal for Zenit on 18 April 2018, the memorable last-minute winner gainst Dynamo Moscow at the Gazprom Arena.

Ilya played 12 matches for Zenit-2 and scored one goal this season.
