Sepahan are the five-time Iranian champions and four-time cup winners and the two clubs signed a memorandum of cooperation in April 2021.

The friendly match will take place on Friday 17 February at the 75,000 capacity Naghsh-e-Jahan Stadium in Isfahan, Iran and will kick off at 3pm St. Petersburg time.
