Zenit played 11 matches in July and August, seven in the RPL, three in the Russian Cup, and one in the Super Cup. Evgeni played in eight of those games, including starting in the 4-2 Super Cup against Krasnodar.
Latyshonok went on to keep four clean sheer in his first four RPL games, and in total kept six clean sheets out of seven matches so far this RPL season, a club record.
Against Dynamo Moscow at the Gazprom Arena, Latyshonok saved a late penalty from Moumi Ngamaleu to ensure a 1-0 win. He then kept another clean sheet at home to Spartak making six saves and winning the Man of the Match award for his performance.
Over seven RPL so far this season Evgeni has made 25 saves and this confident start to his Zenit career caught the attention of the Russian national team, and in September, Evgeni made his international debut in a 3-0 friendly win against Vietnam.
