A Pavel Sadyrin memorial evening took place in St. Petersburg

A gathering of former Zenit players, alongside many of St. Petersburg’s famous faces got together on Sunday 15 September at the Tolstoi Fraer pub on Dumskaya Street to celebrate the Zenit legend.

The event was dedicated to the memory of the former Zenit player, manager and the man who led us to our first league title in 1984. This in attendance shared stories and memories of Sadyrin, including former Zenit greats; Yuri Zheludkov, Mikhail Biryukov, Vladimir Klementyev, Arkady Afanasyev, Mikhail Lokhov, Anatoly Davydov, Konstantin Zyryanov, Alexander Spivak, Vladislav Radimov and Alexey Igonin. Also at the evening were People's Artist of Russia Sergey Migitsko and sports commentator Gennady Orlov, and musician Alexander Rosenbaum.

Pavel Sadyrin would have been 82-years-old on 18 September, and on 20 September we will celebrate his birthday with a legends match between Zenit and CSKA Moscow at the Petrovsky Stadium.
