Pavel Sadyrin played for Zenit from 1965 to 1975 and captained the team for six seasons notching up 360 appearances and scoring 41 goals from midfield. He was Zenit head coach from 1983 to 1987 and from 1995 to 1996. In 1984 he led the club to their first time ever league title.

Pavel Sadyrin sadly passed away on 1 December 2001.
